*sigh* this is nothing I really want to make my first comment I give you on... this may sound hard now - it is not meant to be to, I only try to give critique to help you improve - I have taken a look at your recent pics and they're really good, with great style, but, I hate to say that: I can't find anything of that in this photo. The treatment of light seems to be completely wrong to me for that kind of surface, maybe lighting it from the right instead, on a lower angle could work here. Also, the satuation is much too much overdone. It covers no artistic message here for me, it is just "too much". Sorry.

When I first saw this I thought it was an orange skin which you clevely embossed a design on. It's funny how your mind tried to make sense of strange things

well unfortunately Phryneas is completely right, except one:
The girls old style is really good, maybe some other folk stuff would be better to capture.

I think the lighting brings out some interesting textures. I think it's too monotones though in general. I wonder if a white inner border would add more interest to this piece. There is already so much orange that to me, an orange inner border doesn't work so well here.
